“Life” sets forth the two births and the necessity of the Word and the Spirit, and their agreement to bring about the change: to be as he is.
The whole Christian world is looking to death when it is life.
You will not find God or have that life develop in you by just sitting and listening to teaching.
You must get alone with God and let him talk and reveal to you.
Do you know that this might be maybe the most important word that we have heard tonight, because God wants us to know his Word? This is no new revelation, as far as I know, but it is just what God wanted for tonight to strengthen us.
Do you know that except we know the Word of God, we will not come into the kingdom: that we have to be taught and we have to learn the Word of God? We have to know the Word of God because if the Lord would turn Satan loose on us right now to put questions and doubts and things in our minds – he could put circumstances to where we wouldn’t know what the Word of God was or how to answer it. The answer is in the Word of God to every circumstance.
Today, if you could sit at my telephone to hear the questions that we think we know – but when it comes to really answering, do we really know what the will of God is in it? Most generally, we don’t really know. We think, “Well, I think it says this. I think maybe that is what it means.” But we have to know – without a question! We not only have to know it here, we have to know it here. We have to know it from our innermost being: that we know we are born again. (It is just like I know that, the Lord, before he gets through with this, Gene will know that he is healed; just like I know that I am healed.) And now I see the fruits of it. At first, we have to take it by faith, and that is the way that God operates. It wouldn’t be faith except that we would be tested in our faith. It would just be by works. And that doesn’t please God. Faith pleases God.
The sons are promised all things
Matthew 6:33
But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all of these things shall be added unto you. Now this is the first time in the Scriptures that God made such an open statement – when he promised us all things. Under the prophets and under the law, it was never so. They were promised so much, but they were never promised all things including Life. That takes in Life; that takes in everything: all things.
I Corinthians 3:21
Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are yours; Don’t look to man for the glory. Don’t look to man for anything. God has already given us everything we need, including Life. Amen.
Now there are some things here we might have to discuss. Some may sound a little different to us. This is just a Bible study tonight. We are going to just talk about everything.
John 15:15-16
Henceforth Or from hereafter. I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you. Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, Now the preachers have taught that “fruit” is bringing other people in. That isn’t what he is saying – the fruit of our loin, the fruit of our body, amen, the fruit of our innermost being, the fruit of righteousness and of peace and of joy. This is the kind of fruit that God is looking for. He is well able to take that stone and make it into a praise for him. Amen. and that your fruit should remain: Not that you just put off fruit today and tomorrow something else, but that he is looking for fruit and faith. that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.
This just thrills me to think that God is so pleased
to give us the kingdom.
And to think that it has never been preached before in the earth. Now it has been here all the time in the Scriptures (and that one prophecy that we have from 1619. Way back there, God gave that one man – that is the only article that I have ever found that goes back that far foretelling the end like it really is. But he had to have that, that we might have confidence.)
Romans 8:32
He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? And again, when he said we inherit all things: that is Life. He cannot do anything with dead people. He has to have live people to take the kingdom. Amen. What kind of an army would that be? He doesn’t have to resurrect them from the dead and bring them back to do it. He wants live people that will fulfill his plan that Adam was – a live person – but Adam failed.
Christ died that we would not fail.
He tasted death for every man.
If we could accept it. (Jesus said, “Greater things shall ye do because I go unto the Father.” What a greater thing – to live. He had to die to go unto the Father but a greater thing would be to live.) Not have to die. Now that is truth. That was like an arrow hit my heart. That is the greater thing too.
And, also, let me just drop this out. I am not going to teach on it tonight, but the Spirit quickened it to me and I didn’t know if I’d have the nerve to say it. The sign of Jesus Christ – when we have come into a certain place in God, when you will be able to appear and disappear at God’s command – this is going to come to the children of God. It is all in there. It is all in the Scriptures. I get so tickled every time I get on the subject because it is so neat, because I saw my body disappear that time when the beads were hanging out here and my body was gone. So I know it is coming. And someone back there seeing me here and there, flitting back and forth by the Spirit. So we know. I don’t want to get on this, but I am just saying that it is a fact.
The Sons Are Promised Guidance Into All Truth
John 16:13
Howbeit when he, “He” is speaking of the Holy Ghost. the Spirit of truth, He is the Spirit of truth. is come, he will guide you into all truth: All truth, we’ve all had part truth, but now he is opening unto his people all truth. for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, Well, who is he hearing from? Christ. that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. All things to come. We have received that Holy Spirit, that Holy Ghost, that is the Spirit of truth, which has come to represent Christ. And Christ hears from the Father and he speaks to the Holy Ghost; and the Holy Ghost speaks to us, to our hearts, because he dwells, you see, representing Christ. Amen.
Revelation 21:6-7
And he said unto me, It is done. Completed. All finished. All wrapped up. It’s got a ribbon on it and everything. It is just ready to go. Amen. That gift. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. Are you thirsty for Life? You have to want this thing. You have to want it because God wants it, not because we especially want to go on. But you know in this age the people that accept death in this generation are against – they are not fulfilling the Scriptures? Because everything has come to pass for this age, that now Life is going to flow by faith in the Word of God. And if not, all of the churches that are teaching death now, and say, “Oh you will make it, on the other side.” Well, death doesn’t do a thing for you, but bury you. It doesn’t change you any. You are the same guy. Because you just go somewhere else. That is all. And yet they think they are going to come back in something else. Death is death. We are no good to God when we are dead. But there is a people that will have Life. He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. Remember what the subject was – about giving us all things.
It is the Father’s good pleasure to give us the kingdom.
You see this Son that he is putting together now, this Son of God, like in the image of his own Son, we being his body, him being the head: he is real fussy about this Son. He wants one exactly like the one that hung on the cross, only he doesn’t want to put him on the cross this time.
He that overcometh – it is so neat. We know these scriptures, but let’s take them and apply them to ourselves. I am not saying that there are not other Sons of God in the earth. I am not saying that.
(And there was a fallacy preached the other night with Tom. And bless his heart, I am sure I don’t agree with him and he doesn’t agree with me on a lot of things because that’s our doctrines. But according to the Scripture – and I think I ought to clear it up since the Spirit quickened it to me – he said that “all will come in at the same time,” which there is not one scripture to back it up. It is the neatest thing. I just sat there and I thought these kids will know. These kids will just know that that is not scriptural. But I thought just to say it out, because if there is any question in your mind.)
“To he that overcometh”, and we won’t all overcome at the same time. He isn’t bringing us up like puppets. It is every man for his own choice. It has to be that way. Well, Enoch proved it. He was clear out of season. He didn’t die. He has never died. And Elijah, he was clear out of season, too. And he didn’t die. He is still alive. When Christ said that he died for us, in other words, that we wouldn’t have to, he tasted death for every man. Well, then what in the world – you see, it is so ridiculous. We can see it, but except we see it by the Spirit…
He is not talking to anybody else but us right now. He might be speaking somewhere else in some other place, but he is speaking to us right here. This is why he gave me this message. It is just so simple. It is so simple, and the main reason that we have to know this is because we are no good to God dead. It is not fulfilling his word.
Some people will fulfill the Word of God from the beginning that Adam was never made to die; but because of his sin, he died. That was the curse. And we are not under the curse. That curse was broken in Christ. Now, of course, we know certain things had to take place, but now is the time, believe you me and if it isn’t, pray tell me, when is it going to be when somebody is going to grab a hold of this and teach it?
John 5:20-24
For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: He shows Christ everything. The Father shows Christ everything that he does. and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel. Greater works than they had seen. For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and makes them alive. quickeneth them; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will. For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son: Now let’s get a hold of this. Don’t look to God for judgment. It is Christ that is the judge. but hath committed all judgment unto the Son: That all men should honour the Son, And have respect for him, he is the guy that has the credentials. even as they honour the Father. Now remember, they are one. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, Jesus speaking. and believeth on him The Father. that sent me, hath everlasting life, Do you remember when Jesus said in John 11, “Can you believe this?” When he said to her, “Can you believe this that you can live forever – I am the resurrection, and the life: he that heareth me or he that keepeth my commandments shall never die.” He said “Believest thou this?” on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, We already have it (everlasting life) if we can receive it. and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. To be condemned was death. That was the condemnation. To be condemned is death. They condemn you to death. And that was the condemnation. It tells right in the Scriptures several places. Death was the condemnation for sin. And it still is.
Now let’s read 24 again. Now we know these things, but let’s get a hold of them today so we don’t ever have to question again whether we are going to live forever or not, if we keep the commandments. Let’s let the Spirit do the work. Amen. We are going to have to get a hold of this. Time is short.
The Sons Believe All That Jesus Speaks
John 5:24
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, You have to believe what Jesus said. Amen. and shall not come into Death or under the curse of sin. condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. Without dying. You just pass, by the Spirit, over death into Life. How much plainer?
Oh, it is so beautiful. Now we have got to believe these words of God. You know, most of the kingdom is right here in the New Testament; the words out of Jesus’ own mouth.
John 16:13-15
Howbeit when he, the Spirit The Holy Ghost. of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. He shall The Holy Ghost. glorify me: says Christ. for he shall receive of me, or of mine, and shall shew it unto you. So what the Holy Ghost shows you is what Jesus is saying to the Holy Ghost to reveal to you. All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of me, or of mine, and shall shew it unto you. That ought to increase our faith.
The Sons Shall Never Perish, Or See Death
This was a greater understanding because I looked up to see and it shocked me what I found in the dictionary.
John 10:25-30
Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father’s name, they bear witness of me. But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
All right, I looked up the word “perish,” just for fun, and here is the exact quotation from the dictionary. “Perish” means to suffer a violent death or an untimely death or to pass from existence. Now that is what the dictionary says. That is what “perish” means.
And I give unto them eternal life; You have (Gene, for you or any of us but especially to Gene tonight: I want Gene to see this.) …you have the Life, the eternal life, living in you and working in you. So, really, there is nothing that can kill you if you can just get a hold of this. And I am not saying it in a condemning way because it takes the faith of God, of Jesus Christ. But you do have that Life. You are called: the words that God has spoken over you about the kingdom. You are called a kingdom man. There is no question. It is in the Spirit. He brought you in at this time to have a part in his kingdom. And you have that kingdom Life working in you. What you need to do, if you can get a hold of it, is to just rejoice in your home, everywhere.
Nothing can happen to us no matter what. My Father, which gave them me, Or gave them to me. is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand. I and my Father are one. Nobody, nothing can take you out of that Life, out of that Life that he gives us, amen. There is nothing that can do it. There is nothing. We can make our own choice. It is absolutely up to us. We have to make that choice. I hate to bring myself into it, but I have faced death so many times, and at other times besides the heart attacks, and I have had to just say, “Oh come on, now, I know because God spoke this or because God spoke that.” I didn’t teach the Life message then, but I knew that I couldn’t die until all of these things were fulfilled. And God has spoken things over you, and that has to be fulfilled because it is the word of Life spoken. And if you have a word concerning your future, just hang on. He’ll try your faith. You bet he’ll try your faith. He sure will, until you just almost wear out. But you just have to hang on. Amen. But he will fulfill every word he has spoken.
Man, I could go home and bring stuff that I could talk about for three hours on prophecy, just prophecy that God has brought to pass. And there is not one word prophesied – you know here’s what tickles me – I get so excited about him because he is so sweet. You know he’ll cause a jackass to give a prophecy and it will be true. Amen. Didn’t he? You don’t have to be somebody to prophesy. He’ll just use anything he wants to prophesy with. And I have had guys that were so full of sin and so putrid come up, preachers, and I knew they were rotten stinkers, but yet the word of God, he caused them to prophesy truth over me regardless.
You don’t have to be somebody – the least are the ones I like to hear from because God gets control of them because they are so scared. You’ve heard me say that before. But I don’t want anybody that is so fluent and all so educated in prophetic word. I don’t want that. I’d rather have one of you kids – when God moves on you – rather than anything else because God honors that. And it always comes back to me that God can cause a jackass to speak, so let these kids prophesy, these little ones. I’ll accept it. Amen. I wasn’t talking about you big kids, I was talking about these little children. All these little children, they can prophesy. Amen.
The Two Births And The Necessity Of The Spirit
Now I just today understood what the Lord was talking about after reading this scripture for forty years. I really understand, I believe, now, what the Lord is saying, in fact, I know that it is. Because I have had so many questions, so many from so many people, on this scripture.
John 3:3
Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Now we are going to prove something here pretty soon. I don’t know if I will let the scripture do it, maybe we will talk a little; maybe that will help you to understand. I really want you to get this because it means something.
Salvation: The First Birth
Now if someone had – before Christ came into your life with salvation, just with salvation – if someone would have talked to you about even salvation, you couldn’t understand it. Do you see what I am saying? Except Christ come into your life, that first step, you couldn’t see anything. This is the rebirth. This is the being born again. But there is another birth. There are two births, and we will get to that. But I know I was in darkness and in sin, and I couldn’t believe that God would forgive me for sin and all of this and that. And then it burst like a light and I understood, and the Spirit moved and I knew I was saved. Somehow, I knew I was forgiven. Well, that is when you start to see the kingdom. Now when he says, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again he cannot see the kingdom of God, you cannot see anything about God. You just can’t see. Oh, you could pound them over the head with a baseball bat and tell them, “Can’t you see? Can’t you see?” “No, I can’t see,” because the enlightenment comes from within. Amen.
The Sons Experience The Second Birth
We are going to read verses 5 through 8. Now listen carefully, because we need to get this straightened out. This is the first time that I really got straightened out about it. I had a lot of questions about this thing.
John 3:5-8
Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. Now you see, I taught that that was the natural birth because we are born with water, but it is not so. The Lord showed me different today. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. We are also a flesh being; we are also a spirit being. Aren’t we? So just hang on here so we see this. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, Now he is talking about the Spirit, not accepting your salvation. and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit. Now this is a literal thing. I am not going to get into this again tonight about the sign of being here and there and everywhere by the Spirit, appearing and disappearing. But the Spirit being, in God’s fulfilling of his time, is like the wind. This is one of the things the Lord is showing. This is what he is saying here, but it wasn’t time for that revelation. It is time for that revelation now. We are moving on.
It is time for us to know that some of us are going to be so pure we are going to be like the wind. Do you see, and here and there and everywhere. So is everyone that is born of the Spirit. Now there is a birth that we have entered into. Let’s see what God had shown me here. I have it written down.
If we are just born again or receive Christ’s forgiveness and not born of the Spirit, we are still under the curse of death.
Just to be just saved, you are under the curse of death. But when you receive the Spirit, the Holy Ghost, then you are born into Life. That is, the Spirit of Christ. He said, “Except I go away, the Spirit cannot come.” So the Holy Ghost is really the Spirit of Christ. But still under the curse of death after the flesh.
If we believe and obey the Spirit of truth, if we believe it and receive it, we are freed from the curse, which is death.
So there are the two births, and we will go on to prove it in the Scriptures.
John 3:36
He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: You already have it. You don’t have to die to get it. You already have it. and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; Now you see, the Son came in the form of the Holy Ghost in us. Do you see it, how plain it is? You see, you don’t have Christ living in you when you are forgiven for your sin. Do you get it? Do you see what I am saying? I want you to get it. If not, we will go over it. We will stop here, because this is the whole thing to the life message.
You have to have the Holy Ghost, which is Christ
when he comes to set up his abode within,
and I think all of us have the Holy Ghost. The first is just the forgiveness of sin, then you go by the way of death. They can’t understand it. They can’t enter into it because they don’t have the Spirit of Life. They have just been forgiven for their sin. Now it is very plain. It is to me, because God just really hammered on me until I actually know what he is saying. I know that there is no question. Just as much as I know that I have Life, I know that this is truth now. And I have never heard this taught, but I know it is the truth. I know the difference between the Spirit – and it will tell it because I have more scriptures here. He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. Now it doesn’t mean that he will go to hell, but the wrath of his flesh. This was the judgment of God. The judgment of God is death. So that wrath abides on him. Now that is the way it is. We can’t change it. I don’t know why God has it that way. It is none of my business. I just know it is the truth. And I know that is what these scriptures say.
Because the curse was still on the flesh until they received the baptism,
until Christ went away and the Holy Ghost had to come.
Then comes Life with it.
From that time forth they could have come in. Only God has a perfect plan, a perfect time for all things and this is the time for Life. Isn’t it fun? Please get a hold of this tonight. The Lord is so insistent that we get this and hang onto it, that we know that we have Life in us. It is working in us. And this Life will change us from mortal to immortal. That’s the Life that is already here. We don’t have to look for something greater to come. He is already here doing the work. Amen, don’t look for some great explosion. All that you are going to get is right in here with more revelation: more revelation and more faith to believe. It is already here.
We have everything we need. We are fully equipped right now. Right now, we are fully equipped. That is what the Word says. Don’t look for something else. You have it. You have Christ himself, Life. “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” Didn’t he say it?
All right now… when we understand this scripture that the first birth he is speaking of is the forgiveness of sin when you first can see the kingdom, but without the second birth – which is the birth of the Spirit – you can’t enter into the kingdom. But there is condemnation on the flesh still, because they are still under that curse, because they haven’t been brought to the knowledge of that. God chooses who he wants to choose. Don’t you feel quite fortunate that you are called?
You see I could still be back in the Nazarene Church, bless their hearts. And they will go the way of the grave, except they receive the baptism of the Holy Ghost and except God call, but maybe it isn’t for them. Now they all could be, just like all could be saved.
And the fact of him speaking to you (Gene) before, that you were going to find that little place, that little church out in the country, you know that is God. As sure as you are sitting there, you know that it is God because it has come to pass. And as sure as you are sitting there, I know you can’t die.
The Sons Are Quickened In The Flesh
Romans 8:11
But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. You see there, exactly what we are trying to say. But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. You see, and Christ and the Father are one, remember? And the Spirit, the Holy Ghost, they are all one. Amen. Quicken, give you life in your mortal bodies. Quicken means Life. He is already in here. We are waiting, and we don’t have to wait for him to come. He is already here.
Romans 5:9
Much more then, being now justified by his blood, Salvation. we shall be saved from wrath through him. But we have to have that, then he goes on, by the Spirit, and it goes on, ‘wherefore by one man sin entered into the world and death by sin and so death passed onto all men’ and all of this and that. But then it goes on, by the Spirit you’ll have Life. But we won’t get into that right now, because I have too much. I want to just give what I feel.
Sin Brings Wrath, Or Death
I Thessalonians 1:10
And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come. The only thing that brought wrath was sin. And he has delivered us from sin. That is the condemnation.
Romans 8:22-23
For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain Don’t they? together until now. And it is getting worse and worse and worse. The terrible things that are happening in the earth are getting worse and worse. It is about time for God to reveal his Sons. And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, And we have: like Christ was the firstfruits, now we have the firstfruits also. even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body. Our soul has been redeemed by the blood of the Lamb. Now, by the Spirit, we are waiting for the redemption of this flesh, the changing of this flesh, amen.
Matthew 3:11
John the Baptist speaking. I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: Am I getting any response to that sentence? Salvation. There is your first birth. I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: Remember, he says by water and by blood. but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:
Now does it mean something to you to know that when he baptized you in the
Holy Ghost he baptized you into Life?
The fire is the purging that you (Gene) are going through. You are just getting baptized with it. Amen. It will burn everything out of you that is in you, things you didn’t even know that were there. It will come.
Matthew 3:12
Whose fan is in his hand, Amen, that Holy Ghost. Whose fan is in his hand, Christ in the Spirit. and he will throughly Completely. purge his floor, and gather his wheat All that’s good in you. into the granary or garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire. Amen. We wonder why we have to go through these things. We’ve got to burn that chaff, that no good that is in us, so we will have pure life: pure life, the life of the Son. Nothing else showing, nothing else in us but the Life of the Son. Isn’t it beautiful?
To think that it is God’s Word that we are reading, it is not something we are making up. This is the Word of God, amen, and we have to know where we stand. We have to know that we have Life now. We don’t have to look for Life. We have Life. We have Life. We have Life. Amen. We have had our dimmers on. Now he has taken the blinders off. Amen. They are looking for death, the by and by.
The whole Christian world is looking for death when it is life.
The book is so full of it, it just almost scares me to think how stupid I was. It is a wonder it didn’t destroy me, yet it wasn’t time for me – to be revealed. Now is the time. And the kingdom of God is not death. It is Life.
This is so neat.
Acts 1:2-5
Until the day Talking of Jesus in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen: This was Jesus walking in the earth after he came back and was raised from the dead and came back in his glorified body. To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God: This is where I got that scripture. That is what he did. He taught his disciples. It doesn’t say exactly what he taught, but it says that this is what he was instructing them in for forty days and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God. They knew some things and then they put it into words in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, as near as they could, but it is the mysteries of God. And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me. He said I told you about this promise. Here are the two births. For John truly baptized with water; There is the first birth. but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.
That is the second birth, when the Holy Ghost came.
That is the second birth. The first birth, remember, he said you couldn’t see the kingdom. The next birth he said you can’t enter into the kingdom except you have this. There is no way to enter into the kingdom except by the Holy Ghost.
To be born of the Spirit is just the beginning or opening of our understanding to the kingdom of Life. Do you hear that? When we receive the Holy Ghost, that was the beginning, or opening, of our understanding to the kingdom of Life. This is when we have passed from death unto life, the flesh to the spirit. We do have Life, eternal Life through the Holy Ghost, according to all the Scriptures; and believe me I searched before I teach a message like this. And I picked out what I thought was to be taught.
(I think we need to rebuke Satan again because he is working through the children. Now we haven’t had that. We haven’t had that. Amen. It has been a bedlam. It hasn’t bothered me one speck, but I know that Satan does not want this. I rebuke you, Satan, in Jesus’ name. Now you leave the children alone. Amen, in Jesus’ name. Amen. And open our ears to hear, and our spirits.)
Well, things are quieting down. Praise the Lord.
II Timothy 1:9-10
Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, This is the highest call you can get. The thing that is the dearest to the heart of the Lord. not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began, Remember what I said the Lord showed me? Before the world was ever formed, we were with him. We were all one spirit and the Lord is drawing us back into one spirit again, with the Father, that we might become one again in the Father as we were before the beginning, the Bible says. But I couldn’t quite understand that until he showed me this, what was happening here. Before the world began. But is now made manifest It is now made known. by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel: Now how can you get away from that? Now we are going to read it again. Isn’t this neat?
II Timothy 1:9-10
Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, Not according to what we were before. but according to his own purpose He called us. and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began, But is now made manifest Or made known. by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, When he came. who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel: You can’t deny it. We would be absolutely ridiculous not to accept Life when it is that plain. Do you see it, everybody? If not, we are going to keep hammering on it. Do you understand it? If you don’t, put your hand up. If you don’t see the revelation. If it is not given to you by the Spirit, you won’t see it. Amen. But I know, I tell you, I see the lights on some of your faces. I know you have caught it.
Now we know what the baptism of the Holy Ghost is for. Remember when I used to say we really don’t know what the Holy Ghost is for. I used to say that, and I wanted the Lord to show me, what was it really, there’s more to it then what we knew. Now this is it: he brought Life. Now we can say with asurity, we have Life.
We have that Life.
This mortal, here’s mortal. Oh, that this mortal, Paul said, might be clothed upon with immortality. That is what he was looking for. He didn’t say that he might change my spirit, that he might die and come back, but oh, that this mortal, this flesh, might be clothed upon with immortality. Because Paul saw it. God had given him that revelation. How simple. Are you thankful for what God has done? He said he couldn’t come in until we come in. Amen. He has waited awhile, hasn’t he?
You know, I almost didn’t teach this message. How important it is that we really know what is going on. Amen.
At least we know now that we have Life within ourselves, now, working in us.
Hebrews 2:14-15
Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, Now, you see, there is still just the same world and all, even the Pentecostal people, Holy Ghost-filled people, are still accepting death when they don’t have to, because they have never been taught. that is, the devil; And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. Now, is he talking about living forever? He most certainly is. They are in bondage because they fear death. Who wants to die when God wants you to live? What good are you dead? No good. Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; That is what he came for. that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, Satan. He took that away from him. He went down and he took the keys of death, hell and the grave. You don’t have to go to the grave because he took the keys of death, hell and the grave. We don’t have to go to hell. We don’t have to die and be put in the grave. And that is what he took. That’s what it is for. Now if he has done the work, let’s take it. That is what he said, didn’t he?
Now he is raising up another Son, amen. Us. Another Son, amen. And he is not going to die, because this Son can’t die: because Life lives in every one of us. And if we will receive it, and get a hold of it, and walk in it, and stay obedient: that is all it takes. We can’t bring it. He has to do the work, if we will let him do it.
Now don’t go out there and try to make yourself something you are not. Okay? Just be what you are. It is his job. We hinder him sometimes, when we try to make ourselves righteous. We try to please God. You don’t have to try to please him, you already please him. That is why he chose you. Well, isn’t it the truth? It is ridiculous.
It sounds so ridiculous when you see the scriptures say he took the keys of death, hell and the grave. You know. But, you see, that is a fact. That is the way that he had to die; and then to be put in the grave; and then he overcome the grave by the resurrection out of the grave. Amen. So you can see where the Lord could have changed him right then on the cross, but he had to overcome all of that death, hell and the grave. And he went into hell for us. And so he took the keys of all three and said he gave them to the church, but the church hasn’t accepted them, but we take them in the name of the Lord. Amen. Because in the Scriptures we know it. We don’t say that boastfully, we just know it.
Well, we all know this.
I Corinthians 15:20-26
But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. So that they could come out also. For since by man came death, Through Adam. by man came also the resurrection of the dead. Which is great, too. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. Now we know there is a resurrection for those that have died, that have gone on, that couldn’t come into this order; and thank God for it. But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ’s at his coming. At the day of resurrection. Then cometh the end, Now this is where the key is. Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet. The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death. Now the thing is, we already have Life because the Scripture says so, but all death will be done away with, not just the Christian death, all death will be done away with. That is the final. We have Life now. We do not have death.
We have Life now.
But all death, and he put that word in there, all death. The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death. And he has to put all things under his feet. So we know that by the Scriptures, he has several things he is speaking of here: the unsaved, the saved that will come forth in the resurrection, the unsaved that will come forth in the resurrection, and all of these things when he has to finally destroy; all of that. And the scripture that we were talking about yesterday when they will say that they will seek death and won’t find it, because there will be such terrible suffering in their physical, but death will be destroyed. A man, if he had had only a piece of that hand, if that’s all that was left, it would still be alive. Because they will seek death and cannot find it. So we know that death is a reality. Amen.
Now this is accepting or asking for death. That is the easy way.
Numbers 14:2
And all the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron: and the whole congregation said unto them, Would God that we had died in the land of Egypt! or would God we had died in this wilderness! What a sad story. And here was Christ in the wilderness with them, Life itself, and they complained after the way God had treated them.
Numbers 14:20-24
And the Lord said, I have pardoned according to thy word: They made some commitments. When we make commitments, God takes us at our own word and he still does. It is what we say, that by the words of our mouths we stand or fall. But as truly as I live, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the Lord. In spite of them, all the earth will be filled with the glory of the Lord. Now that is a promise for us. Because all those men which have seen my glory, and my miracles, which I did in Egypt and in the wilderness, and have tempted me now these ten times, and have not hearkened to my voice; Surely they shall not see the land which I sware unto their fathers, neither shall any of them that provoked me see it: But my servant Caleb, because he had another spirit with him, A good spirit. and hath followed me fully, him will I bring into the land whereinto he went; and his seed shall possess it.
Numbers 14:28-35
Say unto them, As truly as I live, Now these are cautions for us. As truly as I live, saith the Lord, as ye have spoken in mine ears, so will I do to you: Just according to our own words. Isn’t that something? This is why it is important that we speak faith. Isn’t it? It is according to our own words. He said you are carcases. He said I am doing it according as you have spoken it. As spoken in mine ears, so will I do to you. They said, “Why didn’t we die in the wilderness? Why didn’t you just let us die?” Your carcases shall fall in this wilderness; and all that were numbered of you, according to your whole number, from twenty years old and upward, which have murmured against me, Doubtless ye shall not come into the land, concerning which I sware to make you dwell therein, save Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun. But your little ones, which ye said should be a prey, You said all the little ones were going to starve out here in the wilderness and be a prey of the beasts. Out of your own mouth, see? But your little ones, which ye said should be a prey, them will I bring in, and they shall know the land which ye have despised.
That reminded me – it tickles me so because of my own people, some of them said, “Well, Rose will never have a church.” They heard the word that God was going to give me a church and all of that, years ago. “She’s too old, but maybe it will be Carol or one of her children, but she’ll never – it will never be fulfilled.” It just makes me laugh because it is the same sort of thing here. You see they are looking after the flesh and not after what God – God is God. Amen. them will I bring in, and they shall know the land which ye have despised. Or rejected. But as for you, your carcases, they shall fall in this wilderness. And your children shall wander in the wilderness forty years, and bear your whoredoms, They have to put up with all of that. until your carcases be wasted in the wilderness. After the number of the days in which ye searched the land, even forty days, each day for a year, Isn’t God exact? shall ye bear your iniquities, even forty years, and ye shall know my breach of promise. I the Lord have said, I will surely do it unto all this evil congregation, that are gathered together against me: in this wilderness they shall be consumed, and there they shall die. There’s the curse of death. They could have had life. I believe if Enoch received life and if Elijah had life, had they believed… Life was taught way back in – all through the Scriptures.
These scriptures aren’t quite as exciting, but we have to know how to get into it, too. And the Lord gave me this as a kind of a warning to us to be careful.
In the pastor’s house where I got the prophecy about the Church, this man became sick not too long after that. He used to pray for a lot of people and he had a great healing ministry. And people would go to him and come to him from all over. And he had great power with God and great anointing to pray for the sick. And many, many miracles had taken place. But he himself got sick. And he got frustrated because he thought that he shouldn’t get sick. And so he wouldn’t pray for anybody while he was sick. Now, he didn’t have a sickness that would have killed him. The doctors say they don’t know why he died, but I knew why he died and his wife knew why he died, and she called me and told me why he died. She is still alive.
He said one night, “If you don’t raise me up out of this bed,” and she heard him, “if God don’t raise me up out of this bed, then take me.” He was ashamed because God would put something on him. He thought he was so, I suppose, high-minded. Just because God wouldn’t heal him in his time, and he was taking him through something trying to burn out of him – like all of us. You know, all of us have to go through these things, trying to burn out of the man what was in him, that pride – that very thing that was in him. And so God took him at his word. He died the next day, for no apparent reason. And she cried so. She said, “Marvin didn’t have to die, Rose. He didn’t have to die.”
But God took him up on the words of his own mouth. He said, “Either you heal me or take me.” He commanded God. And God just took him. Now that is the honest fact. She will tell you that today. He did not have to die. But you don’t say, “God, you either heal me or you take me.” God is the boss. Amen. You don’t challenge God. That is a good warning for all of us. Don’t challenge God.
God is so honest, and he never covers anything up. He tells about the good guys and the bad guys. And it doesn’t make any difference, does it? That is the way it ought to be. That is the way we are becoming more like Christ, because we are opening things up. If you do something, don’t run away and hide. Satan has got you cornered then. It is better to get it out. Right out in the open.
I could have said, “Well, I won’t teach on that about the birth, because I taught it different awhile ago – that it had to be the natural birth and then the birth of the Spirit. But you see, I want truth. And he would have taken that revelation away from me, do you know that, if I would have let pride or something come in. This is why if I make a mistake, I have to come right out, don’t I, and say it. I was doing the best I could do. God knew that.
He hadn’t revealed this to me: what he was talking about, being saved and then the birth of the Spirit, Amen, of Life in us. So we have to be honest. That is the way we learn.
Hebrews 3:1-19
Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus; You see now, he is speaking to us. Isn’t that beautiful that he calls us this way, holy brethren partakers of the heavenly calling? Who was faithful to him that appointed him, as also Moses was faithful in all his house. For this man was counted worthy of more glory than Moses, Speaking of Jesus. inasmuch as he who hath builded the house hath more honour than the house. For every house is builded by some man; but he that built all things is God. So he gets the greatest honour, doesn’t he? And Moses verily was faithful in all his house, as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken after; In this generation. God caused him. You see, all Scripture is given for our learning and for our admonition. So Moses had to go just like he had to go. God commanded it, in order that we might read it and know where we are and who we are. But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end. There’s no guarantee, is there now? You see there is no guarantee that we are going to make it. It is up to us. We are not locked in there to where we can’t get out, but we have to believe it. We have to believe the Word. We have to walk. We have to be obedient. We have to stay free from sin. If we do sin, then we have to go to the Lord. Amen. Any of you believe that what we were teaching, that that gave the excuse for anything? Did you believe that you couldn’t come out of Life, that you couldn’t die? Sin brings death. Remember that. Sin still brings death. And because you have Life working in you doesn’t mean that you can’t sin and die. It is to him that overcometh shall inherit all things.
The Sons Walk In Obedience
Now I am thankful that we have Life in us, and the Bible says so. We must believe it and I do believe it. And I know that I have, because Christ had spoken, as I have said many times, he says, “You live because I live.” Christ’s Life was keeping me alive. I’m not living any more after the flesh but after the life of Christ, as long as I walk in obedience. But if I didn’t walk in obedience, then he’d kick me out the door like anybody else. So I must walk in obedience.
Sin will still bring death. if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end. Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice, Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness: When the children of Israel walked in the wilderness. Don’t harden your hearts as they did. When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years. Wherefore I was grieved with that generation God says. and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways. So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.) There was no need for them trying. God said they will not. They have been too disobedient. Take heed, He’s preaching and he says Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. Or forsaking. But exhort one another daily, while it is called To-day; Time is going to be no more pretty soon when you don’t count time. lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our Faith or confidence stedfast unto the end; I’m so glad that he puts that in there that we don’t get careless. We could get careless and say, “We have life,” which we have. We could get careless and cast it away. While it is said, To-day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation. For some, when they had heard, did provoke: howbeit not all that came out of Egypt by Moses. But with whom was he grieved forty years? was it not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness? And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not? So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief. Think of it.
Provocation is during that time of the walk when they were being tested in the wilderness. It’s the time of testing, like we are going through now, our time of testing. Amen. Or trial. Amen.
Hebrews 4:1-3
Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. For we which have believed do enter into rest, Do you believe you have life? as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished Here it is again. from the foundation of the world. Everything was finished from the foundation. It wasn’t built when it just had a foundation. Amen. That was before the world was built.
Hebrews 4:6-10
Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, They must. Some must enter into this life. and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief: Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To-day, after so long a time; Way out there David, from your time. as it is said, That reaches us. To-day Now this day. if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts. Speaking to us because we are the ones that are receiving the revelation. He is speaking to us. For if Jesus had given them rest, See, he’s giving them the Old Testament. then would he not afterward have spoken of another day. There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. Now this was spoken nineteen hundred years ago and then some. For he that is entered into his rest, Like God did into his. he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. We have to cease from our own works, thinking us do-gooders have any reward coming, but only through Christ.
Hebrews 4:14-16
Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Into the Spirit, become a Spirit being. Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. We must confess our faith. Do not be as the children of Israel were with Moses. Life was preached back then. Absolutely. There are many scriptures about that, that it was preached.
Numbers 16:5
And he spake unto Korah Now all of you know about Korah and his rebellion, coming against Moses and Aaron and so on and so forth. and unto all his company, saying, Even to morrow the Lord will shew who are his, And that is what I wanted to encourage you with. The Lord will show. We will know. There is going to be a separating the sheep from the goats, and God will show who you are. Like he said, tomorrow God will show who are his. and who is holy; He is going to show who is holy and who is not holy. and will cause him to come near unto him: Unto God. even him whom he hath chosen will he cause to come near unto him. And we are the chosen again.
Psalm 82:6-8
I have said, God said. Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High. Was man created in his likeness and his image? Are we sons? God looks on us as gods, part of him. You see we know that there is only one true God. Do you understand what I am saying, now? But he looks on us as gods. His Word says so in several places, because we are gods, like Father like son, amen, if we are walking in righteousness and holiness. Your name is Jones or Pete or whoever, well then, you carry that same name, amen. That is his name. Amen. But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes. Even though they have the Holy Ghost, even though they are called, many will die like a man instead of living. They will just lay down and die, like man died. And then he says Arise, O God, Speaking to the people. Arise, O God, judge the earth: for thou shalt inherit all nations. You see he is speaking one sentence. But ye shall die like men, and fall Now after he just got through calling them gods. I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High. These that he is calling gods. But ye shall die like men, Even though you are gods. You have the life of God living in you. But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes. Arise, O God, judge the earth: Go ahead, judge the earth he says. for thou shalt inherit all nations. God’s great plan was complete from the beginning and is unfolding in his perfect timing. Remember there is not one thing out of place. Every word shall come to pass. We can be as the children of Israel or walk on into the fullness of the kingdom. And how do we do it?
By the Word and by the Spirit
As we are led by the Spirit, but especially this Word we have to know. You’ll never know revelation of the Word until you get into it and read it.
The Sons Know The Word, His Word
You’ll receive some revelation from each other as we go. But you have to receive this revelation for yourself as you study. And I want to tell you as sure as I am sitting here,
if you don’t study the Word of God and know it, you will not come into the kingdom. You will not.
Because the Spirit, the Holy Ghost himself, as you study the Word, has to implant it in your spirit. Then it becomes a part of you and you grow.
I have to warn you of this. And don’t read it like you are reading a newspaper, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. You’d get what you’d get, a jumble, a mess. But if you sit down and search the Scriptures, search the Scriptures, and don’t be proud because you read ten chapters. The thing is, you probably got nothing out of it. Take one word at a time and see what it means and what he is saying. To search him, search. If you lost your diamond ring or your diamond out of your ring even, you would search your house looking for it. He said it is a hidden treasure that they went and bought the whole field to find it, Jesus. Do you remember the scriptures?
See there was a treasure, a hidden treasure and he bought the whole field to go in there and dig and labor; finally dug up the whole field hunting for that treasure. And it is the same with us. This is a hidden treasure; the Bible is full of hidden treasure.
You’ll never learn it from somebody else. You never will. You will get some understanding, but I must warn you, it only comes as you draw close to God yourself and as you search the Scriptures and learn it by revelation as the Holy Ghost within you will bring you into all truth. He said he lives and abides in here and he is truth. He will bring you into all truth.
There is no other way. There is no other way. There is no easy way. You wait on God in the presence of God in quietness alone. That is the way you receive. Now it is all right to read back and forth if you want, in the Scriptures, but there has to be times when you have to get alone and you have to wait on God and you have to wait until he gets ready. He’ll give it to you when it is his time, not your time. Just remember that. “Oh, I spent ten minutes; that is enough for today.” Is it? You have to do it when he says so. When he will not give revelation until he gets ready, and he knows when you have searched for him. He says when you have searched for me, you will find me. Didn’t he? And this is where we find him, right through the book. Right here. Right through the book.
I can guarantee you, you will not find him just sitting listening to teaching.
You will not.
You will not ever have that Life develop in you. You must get alone with God and let him talk to you. Let him reveal to you.
Then it becomes a part of you and you’ll grow and understand. How do you think God gave me this revelation even today? I am not boasting, do you understand? I don’t read as much as I ought to. And I am pretty careless lately, not studying enough. But it just seems like I’ve read it so much, that it just seems like you know all there is to know almost at times, until I get in the simple scriptures and find out I don’t even know what they mean. Then I know I haven’t studied enough. Amen. And you know, I am not boasting, but I say, after 40 years I should have learned something at least about the two births. But I didn’t know that, because God gives it in his timing. We had to know that today, what it is,
that the second birth is the LIFE given us by the Spirit.

Okay, I just thank God for his word. This evangelist, I don’t know a thing about him. We will see how much you know the Word. I don’t have any idea what he is going to teach or preach or what. And it doesn’t worry me either.
And he said unto me, It is done.
I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
