My name is Cody Lane Crissman. I am the son of Faith and Phil Crissman and the grandson of Robert James. When the Lord caused me to be birthed into this world, I was not breathing. My parents were told that even if I would live, I would be severely brain damaged. The doctors were wrong. God used my birth, in part, to bring my Papa (Robert James) and my mom and dad back to God. My mother and Papa prayed in tongues extensively and the Holy Ghost and my Father in Heaven gave me life – I was completely healthy.
My whole life I have known God in my heart, but as I traveled across the country with my family, I grew to love Christ and wanted to be more like him. How can we be like him unless we change our lives to live clean? That means discipline and a laying down of the desires of this world for the greater hope in God.
I didn’t have many friends in school because of such high standards. Growing up away from extended family and friends was tough. We moved a lot and I had lived in 18 homes at the age of 14. I was constantly the new kid and did not fit in. It was lonely to be constantly ridiculed by peers, coaches, and even teachers – just for the way I choose to live – pure. But my parents, Pastor (Kale Aluli), and The Church of Jesus Christ Forever were a constant support. Because of this, I saw success in academics with mainly A’s. I also participated in football and wrestling and loved both.
Upon graduating high school I was led by God and the counsel of Kale to work for a black belt in Taekwondo. And I am now the proud recipient of a first Dan black belt in a universally recognized federation. I was able to teach and train all belts 4+ years of age as well as my own training for those two years. I gained many leadership qualities and a love for people which only supports my walk in Christ.
At 21 years old now, I reside on the beautiful island of Kauai. God spoke to me two years after high school that I would make a move that was out of my view-plane. God, as always, was right! He brought me here to live and work hard, and I am so thankful.
I stand today proudly in all of Jesus Christ, because of my parents, my pastor and close great grandpa, Kale Aluli, and of course the Holy Word of God, KJV. I am truly happy and thankful for my raising and the fruit of discipline instilled in me at a young age. To live righteously!
I love God and want to please only Him. Do you?
Truthfully,
Cody Crissman
